-Lawmaker announces approval of overhead bridge, Command School, FMC

The importance of registering more residents of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the ongoing e-registration/revalidation of membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were emphasised during first quarterly interactive session in 2026, by Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, with executives of the party from the six councils and 30 Wards in Ikorodu division, during the week.
At the meeting held at the Rep. Benson Constituency Office, the lawmaker, party leaders and others that spoke emphasised the need for the party functionaries to intensify their efforts on mobilising more residents to participate in the exercise for Ikorodu to be ahead not only in Lagos State, but in the country.
After results across the Wards was read to the party faithful by Otunba Adebayo Lawson, APC Chairman, Ikorodu West LGA, Rep. Benson urged APC excos and leaders present to intensify their efforts in mobilizing more residents for the registration before the exercise is concluded.

Rep. Benson, addressing the party chieftains, expressed his happiness at their participation and mobilisation during elections and the ongoing registration which he said have been making his representation easier.
He stressed the need for them to continue to give APC required numbers and support during electoral and other party activities, stressing that their full commitment to participation will continue to attract developments to Ikorodu from the Federal Government.
“I am always happy whenever I am with you, because you always make me happy, and because of the trust that you always reposed in me.
“Today, I will speak more on the Renewed Hope of President Bola Tinubu, and relate it to the good things that people of Ikorodu are doing to our great party that is making it easier for me to keep facilitating development to my constituency.

“President Tinubu likes results and it is whosoever that brings results that he turns to his beloved son, and that is exactly what Ikorodu is doing by churning out results after results.
“I have assured Mr President and our great party that Ikorodu will continue to bring good results like we did in the last general elections for President, Governor, and we are also leading in APC e- registration in Lagos State”, Rep. Benson said.
The three-term lawmaker also charged APC excos on the need to aim for local government in Nigeria, with strong APC members by mobilising more residents to participate in the ongoing exercise.
“So, Otunba Tijani (Olasunkanmi), Divisional APC Chairman, is not condemning us for not doing enough despite the fact that Ikorodu is in the lead in Lagos State, but he is comparing Ikorodu with other states in Nigeria, and want us to mobilise more.

“You must note that Alimosho is gradually closing up and we need to up our game because Ikorodu has displaced Alimosho in terms of electoral value.
“I commend the six council chairmen for their efforts in ensuring the success of the ongoing exercise. They have ensured the provision of NIN registration and they also made me provide extra ones to fast-track the process. Among themselves, they are also competing to lead in the e – registration, as Ward A5 (Ipakodo, Ikorodu West LCDA) is leading Wards in Ikorodu Federal Constituency”.
Emphasising the need to mobilise more members into the party, Rep. Benson stated that good electoral and registration results attract developmental projects, and also give members opportunities to contest for offices and attracts electoral values.
“The results matter because it attracts patronage, especially development.

“It is also important for us during the next Congress when some of you will be contesting for positions. Aside the fact that you will be asked about your membership card, the number of people that you are mobilising is also key. So, help us so that you can make it easy for us to assist you when the time comes.
“Let’s drop every other thing for now and focus on the ongoing registration. I want the President to see our numbers and be proud that we are the master”.
He listed new developmental projects that he has been able to facilitate to include a flyover bridge at Majidun among others.
“Some of what are in the pipeline for Ikorodu are Command Secondary School, Federal Medical Center in igbogbo and flyover bridge at Majidun which is already in the 2026 budget. There will be stadium in Ikorodu West LCDA soon”, Rep. Benson announced.

Speaking earlier, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Divisional Chairman, APC, expressed the party’s appreciation for the quality representation by Rep. Benson.
He charged party executives to do more in registering more members into the APC.
“We are thankful for all that our representative has done for us in Ikorodu division, even though we are still asking for more.
“There is still much more to do on the part of the party and ward executives in terms of mobilising more for the ongoing e- registration exercise even though Ikorodu is in the lead in Lagos State. We are yet to reach where we are actually going in terms of numbers. Let us go out and work more.
“The party is counting on the excos. You are our canvassers and we are relying on you. We are appreciative of all that you are doing, but we need you to do more.

On behalf of the LG and ward executives, Otunba Tijani pledged the support for Rep. Benson for continous representation in higher capacity.
Mrs Womuola Oshinowo, Woman Leader, APC Lagos East, commended Rep. Benson for his direct impacts on her life and others in Ikorodu federal constituency.
She also acknowledged his infrastructural development across Ikorodu, and pledged that the entire women in Ikorodu federal constituency will support him to any length in his political aspirations.
The women leader also charged ward executives and residents to participate fully in the APC registration exercise.
CDC Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA Mr. Adeniran Ogunbanwo, representing the over 2600 CDAs in Ikorodu Division, thanked the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, for giving them purpose to campaign and canvass the populace within Ikorodu.

He emphasised that the road, medical, educational and other projects which are impacting on the generality of the people of Ikorodu, are enough to get more people to register for the APC, and also turnout in large numbers during elections.
Mr Ogunbanwo urged residents to further appreciate Rep Benson’s good deeds and quality representation by registering more for the APC, and also give him massive support with large turnout for elections.
Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State and Director General, iCare Foundation, the operational arm of Rep. Benson, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the quarterly meeting with the APC executives afforded his principal and team the opportunity to get adequate feedbacks and respond accordingly.

While stating that Rep. Benson will continue to appreciate the party’s executives for their dedication and commitment, he also assured of more support for them to achieve massive registration in the ongoing exercise and towards the forthcoming general elections.
Mayor Sanwoola also assured Ikorodu residents of more developmental projects.
